Creating a strong community comes with the dedication of many, from policy makers to business owners, engaged individuals to inspired nonprofits. For 27 years, the Santa Fe Community Foundation has been a place for these partners to explore new ways of working together to build a better community.
Donors alone cannot make these changes. Though money is a tool, to make a difference, it must be paired with the expertise of capable nonprofits. Nonprofits describe the Foundation as a place they feel safe to seek more than grant money, but also counsel and ways to perfect their skills.
Donors view the Foundation as an institution that helps them articulate their concerns, connect them with nonprofits and support their desire to leave a lasting legacy.
Estate tax planners recommend the Community Foundation as a place individuals can benefit a multiplicity of causes at the end of their lifetime.
Community foundations are uniquely positioned to change with changing times. Endowment gifts given today will meet future, unknown needs.
We convene and lead on issues such as curbing school dropout rates, reducing illiteracy and protecting the environment. We are here for the exchange of philanthropic information: how donors can give effectively, how nonprofits can secure their future through endowments, how people of every means can combine funds to build a healthier community.
By working together with people from all parts of the community, we are changing lives – helping the Nambé school-bus driver pay her property taxes and remain in her home; supporting the farmer at Tesuque Pueblo to grow nourishing fruits and vegetables; teaching children to play the music of Mozart.
By investing in the Santa Fe Community Foundation, you are joining thousands of your neighbors in a dynamic partnership that is informed by passion, intelligence and love of community.
