Foundation Funds

The Community Care Fund allows the Santa Fe Community Foundation to respond quickly to nonprofits in times of crisis. Every dollar given to Community Care – 100 percent -- is awarded in emergency grants to nonprofits. The Foundation takes no fee.  The Community Care Fund is also available to support the Foundation’s grant cycle during economic downturns.

Future Santa Fe is a giving circle for Santa Fe’s next generation of leaders. Members 50 years of age and younger make annual gifts of $250 each to build a permanent endowment fund. Income from the endowment provides grants to nonprofits selected by the members. Membership benefits include leadership and board training as well as conversations with community leaders.

Lesbian & Gay Community Funding Partnership invests in the future of lesbians and gays by funding programs that address urgent community need. Since 1998, the Partnership has granted $350,000 to nonprofits that build community understanding and make a difference in people’s lives.

Native American Endowment is dedicated to enhancing Native American heritage and experience in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.  The fund supports efforts that emphasize the Native love and commitment to self, family, community and environment.

New Funds

ARTSmart General Endowment and Scholarship Endowment With proceeds from its annual ARTfeast, ARTsmart established two endowments to ensure that future generations of young people will experience the visual arts. One endowment is dedicated to scholarship support for graduating Santa Fe High School seniors who will study visual arts in college. The other endowment will provide general operating support for ARTsmart.

Church of the Holy Faith Endowment was established by bequest to support the ongoing outreach goals of the church.

Earth’s Birthday, a national project to educate children about the Earth that is based in Santa Fe, will use earnings from this endowment to invest in creating activities that seed wonder, cultivate understanding and result in responsible actions on behalf of the natural world.

Friends of the Cathedral Basilica Documentary Fund, A documentary on the history of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi is being made possible by a fund established by the Friends of the Basilica. Emmy-winning filmmaker Tony Martinez is producing the hour-long program in celebration of the cathedral’s history during the City of Santa Fe’s 400th Anniversary Celebration.

Jensen Merritt Brown Fund was established in memory of Jensen Brown and will support a variety of programs that were of interest to him.

Tom and Martha Dillenberg Fund to distribute annual funding to 501(c)(3) organizations that serve children in Santa Fe County.

Kalenian Family Fund, created to build strong and confident children, healthy start-up businesses and vibrant arts and culture organizations.

Life Link Endowment provides assistance to homeless families (couples and single parents with children) and mentally ill homeless individuals through strategies that focus on safety-security, emotional stability, and self-esteem.

Messengers of Healing Winds provides support  to the excellence in non-profits dedicated to the children, land and environment of Northern New Mexico.

Mike and Dee Maloof Family Opportunity Fund was established as a challenge grant to encourage others to contribute to an endowment to meet the future needs in Santa Fe.

Partners in Education Foundation Endowment for the Santa Fe Public Schools,This endowment supports long-term, district-wide initiatives leading to success for all students. Partners in Education will continue to effect positive change in the public schools through its teacher grants and field trip transportation programs. In addition, the endowment will allow Partners to effect sustainable, district-wide innovation beyond the classroom level.

Peter Hay Public Service Fund - This funds seeks to inspire young New Mexicans [High School Senior to Age 26] to enter public service by providing an opportunity to learn about local and state governmental affairs, including the state legislative process.  

Santa Fe Public School Music Special Projects to purchase musical instruments and music for orchestra program.

The Santa Fe Mountain Center Endowment established an endowment to maintain its buildings, property and challenge courses. Adventure-based programming includes cooperative games, problem-solving group challenges, ropes course, backpacking, rock climbing, rappelling, whitewater rafting as well as community mobilization and youth organizing. The courses are designed so participants can develop a sense of self worth, responsibility, compassion and connection to community. The Mountain Center also has an adult health services component, including programs for people living with HIV-AIDS, HIV prevention and testing and support for trauma survivors.

Seahollow Family Gift Fund has been established to support education, well being and creative expression among the many cultures and peoples of the larger Santa Fe community.

Shed a Light Fund Created by Barry Bohlander’s family in his memory, the fund supports schizophrenia research and legislation that will aid those with mental illnesses.

Sophia Circle, This women’s giving circle supports organizations devoted to helping opposing sides reconcile their differences, leading to a more peaceful world. The group’s first grant was to Creativity for Peace in support of its programs to help young Palestinian and Israeli women move through their feelings of fear and hatred for each other into a place of open-hearted kindness, connection and love.

Susan and Conrad De Jong Fund supports a wide array of needs.
