Five outstanding nonprofits were honored with a video tribute, a statue and cash award in a community celebration in 2007 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Often called “the Academy Awards for the nonprofits,” the Piñon Awards is the only honor reserved exclusively for nonprofit organizations.

The 2007 Piñon Award recipients are:

Chimayó Youth Conservation Corps, recipient of the John J. Kenney Award for Environment

Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library, recipient of the Manuel Luján Sr. Award for Education

Gerard’s House, recipient of the Dr. Brian Moynahan Award for Health and Human Services

The Lensic: Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center, recipient of the Gerónimo Cruz Montoya Award for Arts and Humanities

The Santa Fe Farmers Market Institute, recipient of the John Gaw Meem Award for Civic Affairs
