VULNERABLE DONORS & ISSUES OF DIMINISHED CAPACITY
A panel discussion with Jacqueline Berg, Attorney; John Macukas; and Mary Macukas
As fundraising professionals, we understand that high ethical standards are essential to us and our organizations. Sometimes, we find ourselves faced with situations that make us question the best course of action for ourselves as professionals, as well as for the donor and our charitable organization. These situations may involve a donor's diminished capacity, undue influence and conflicts of interest. Unfortunately, organizations can find themselves at risk of litigation, negative press, loss of reputation or worse in the absence of awareness of warning signs of cognitive impairment and have policies/procedures in place. Join us as we explore the scenarios and how to protect everyone involved.
