Taking Some Of the Pain Out of Pay & Hiring Decisions
with Kari Sutton
Two of the most common areas of uncertainty facing nonprofit organizations are compensation and hiring. They are interconnected and may come up together or separately, as it is important to look at total compensation for existing employees as well as new hires. How do you make each dollar go as far as possible while still making sure you’re paying fairly and equitably? How do you hire to build a diverse staff, stay in compliance with all laws, and make sure you’re hiring the best person for the job?

This presentation will explain the various types of funding available. It will provide an overview of the different requirements, and specifics on where to find more information. The workshop addresses equity by empowering rural and marginalized nonprofits with information to increase their access to funding. It disrupts systemic inequity through information sharing.
