Fund for the Flood

On July 23, 2018 Santa Fe received a record 3.57 inches of rainfall – approximately 25% of its annual average – in one night. The 1000-year rain storm flooded homes and businesses throughout the city.

The Santa Fe Community Foundation has created the Fund for the Flood, a program to respond to critical home repairs such as destroyed flooring, drywall, roofing, and windows. Through the program, low-income households may apply for funding online.

A committee will determine if the repair or replacement of items is eligible. If the applicant qualifies, funds will be given directly to contractors and/or businesses replacing damaged items.

Application Guidlines

  1. Up to $1,000 per application.
  2. Applications must be filled out completely to be eligable.
  3. Applicant must own home to receive funding.
  4. Household income must not be more that 80%AMI to qualify for the Fund for the Flood Funding.
  5. A committee will review applications and determine who will receive funding.
  6. We will be sending a committee member to assess the home for critical damage if the application is approved by the committee.
  7. Funding will be distributed directly to the business hired to do repairs.
  8. Application deadline is 5pm on October 31, 2018

The Fund for the Flood will give funding without regard to race, creed, origin, age, disability, ethnicity, color, gender identity, marital status, or sexual orientation.
