Discuss ways of assessing your organizational performance. How do you collect valid data and information on key issues, including diversity? Do you do this at all? Valeria Alarcón joins us this month to share some tools and tips

Founder and CEO of VIA Consulting, Valeria Alarcón has over 20 years of combined experience in boththe private and public sector, and well versed in all aspects of business and organizational managementand system's change. Val’s expertise includes business management, strategic planning andimplementation, strategic and tactical marketing, organizational development, program development andoutcomes measurement, human resource management, leadership development, operations and fiscalmanagement, fundraising and donor stewardship, and high-scale event production. Val received her Organizational Psychology from the College of Santa Fe and is certified in Diversity and Inclusiontraining by Cornell University.Thriving in the face of adversity defines Val’s life, especially during her childhood while growing up ininner city Boston in the 1980s. Her life experiences as an immigrant and a woman of color have shapedher in profound ways. As a result, Val is deeply committed in creating equity and inclusivity in both herpersonal and professional life. As a visionary and seasoned executive Val has a successful and proventrack-record in leading teams through organizational growth and change, cultivating inclusivity throughcollaboration and participatory leadership, and actualizing strategic initiatives and goals into direct andhigh-level impact.

Facilitator Marsie Silvestro is an internationally known author, composer, artist, motivational speaker, counselor, life coach and consultant. She is recognized locally and nationally for her leadership positions in non-profit, business and politics. Marsie has received numerous state and national awards for her domestic violence, human rights and social justice work. Her 48-year career includes tenure as the Executive Director of several non-profits agency’s including more recently Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, in Santa Fe, NM.  

Marsie has published three poetry books: “Feast of Sisterly Trance Formation,” “Grief Walks Through Me Like A Rake” and “The Sky Is My Ocean.”  She has facilitated multiple workshops and retreats across the country, using writing, music and art as a genre for healing victims of domestic abuse, PTSD and for personal empowerment of women. Marsie has also produced 4 CD’s of original music “Circling Free” “Crossing the Lines” “On the Other Side” and “In Avalon”.  Her music has been sung in almost every country of the world. Marsie holds a BA in Fine Arts and Theology, and an M.Ed in Pastoral Counseling IN 2015, Marsie was named Santa Fe’s Business Woman of the Year by the Santa Fe Professional Business Women’s Association.
