The ABCs of Nonprofit Boards for Smaller Organizations
with Jean Block

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Note: This workshop is geared towards smaller organizations - those with annual budgets under ~$250,000, with less than 3-5 staff members. There will be a second presentation geared to larger organizations on September 19, 2018. Also, the registration fee is for two attendees. Executive directors and board members (particularly a chair or other officer, or committee chair) are encouraged to attend together. Questions? Contact us any time!

This fast-paced workshop will share practical ways to enhance your nonprofit board.

A is for Acquire. Learn how to create a well-run recruitment team. We’ll discuss the nominating committee, important forms, a recruitment matrix, where to find board members and how to create a recruitment plan.

B is for Build. You’ve worked hard to recruit good board members, now you’ve got to keep them with best practices, including orientation, roles and responsibilities, bylaws and policy manuals, effective meetings and much more.

C is for Celebrate. You Get What You Accept and What You Reward – keys to keeping the performance bar high at your board, because your mission demands it.  Come prepared to fill a notebook with good ideas and commit to incorporating best practices at your organization!

Jean Block is a national trainer and consultant on nonprofit management, board development and FUNdraising.
