Milagro Middle School
Please support Mariachi Milagro de Ernesto Gonzales (formerly known as Mariachi Conquistador), the youth mariachi afterschool program at Milagro Middle School, by helping them attend the Albuquerque Mariachi Spectacular Conference in July. The conference allows students three days of instruction, and a chance to learn new music and perform with mariachi students from throughout the country. The hope is to take 10-12 students to the conference, and assistance is requested to offset expenses like registration and meals for these students. This conference is an excellent opportunity for students to learn, build confidence, and take pride in the cultural heritage of mariachi music.

Supplies for Science Projects
Santa Fe Public Schools, Sustainability Office
This request is for funding to help pay for supplies for students to learn to collect data for science projects. Funds would buy Jolly Rancher Candies for a Jolly Rancher Candy Physics Lab and provide small journals to utilize for their science projects. Typically, teachers/students will buy large composition notebooks with 100 pages but the students typically only use around 10 of those pages. I would like to buy small 20 page composition notebooks for students to cut down on waste. $200 for 96 notebooks and $50 for Jolly Ranchers candy.

School Garden Community of Practice
Santa Fe Public Schools, Sustainability Office
The SFPS Sustainability Office's School Garden Community of Practice brings together teachers and school garden coordinators who utilize their school gardens as outdoor learning spaces. Since most educators are lone wolves at each school with the burden typically resting solely on one teacher, we like to bring them together for professional development as a community of practitioners who share the best gardening/outdoor learning practices with one another. We have teachers and parents/coordinators with vest interests in their respective school gardens who attend monthly. We share ideas, resources, volunteer time, curriculum and lessons, a database for professional development ... This year, we are also hosting guest speakers from the local community members and organizations such as NMSU Santa Fe County Extension Office, Aaron Kauffman (hydrologist).

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does Dollars4Schools work?
We invite Santa Fe public and charter school teachers, principals, and staff members to submit a brief funding proposal that describes their program or area of need, how many children and grades will be served, and the total dollar amount needed to complete the project. Community donors can then look on this webpage to view current funding needs and make a donation to Dollar4Schools to support them…it’s that easy!
How does the teacher get the money?
As we receive donations, the Santa Fe Community Foundation disburses the funds through a nonprofit partner that, in turn, writes a check to the teacher. We do this on a regular basis so that donations from the community reach local classrooms quickly.
Is the money I donate tax-deductible?
Yes, Dollars4Schools is administered by the Santa Fe Community Foundation, a 501(C)3 corporation, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
Is my donation used for administration?
No — 100% of your donation will support local classrooms. Costs associated with administering Dollars4Schools are covered by donations made to the Santa Fe Community Foundation's Community Leadership Fund.
