A Stronger Foundation for Board Service

Through practical learning, facilitated discussion, and peer exchange, participants will explore how strong governance can support healthy, effective, and sustainable nonprofit organizations.

Grounded in The Source: Twelve Principles of Governance That Power Exceptional Boards, the program explores the role of nonprofit boards, fiduciary responsibilities, strategic thinking, financial oversight, resource stewardship, board and executive director partnerships, fundraising, board recruitment and development, and the practices that strengthen board participation and effectiveness. Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to strengthen both their own board service and their organization's governance.

Participants are expected to attend all sessions, which take place: Thursday, November 12 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (in person); Friday, November 13 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (hybrid); and Saturday, November 14 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (hybrid).

Participants will complete light pre-work before each meeting and receive a complimentary copy of The Source: Twelve Principles of Governance That Power Exceptional Boards to support their learning throughout the program and beyond.
