Girls Inc. is dedicated to helping girls become stronger, smarter, and bolder. The Santa Fe chapter has a long history in our city, being one of the first branches opened in the country.
On this episode of Community Matters, we speak with Kim Brown, the dynamic CEO of Girls Inc. of Santa Fe. In 2025, Girls Inc. celebrates 70 years of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. This is a special year for Kim as well, who reaches an incredible milestone of 20 years with the organization. Listen as Kim reflects on her journey, shares the organization’s impactful work, and discusses how Girls Inc. continues to inspire and equip the next generation of confident young women.
Kim joined Girls Inc. of Santa Fe in 2005, starting as a Program Manager and later being promoted to Director of Operations and then CEO. Kim has a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of SouthernIllinois. Previously, Kim was a residential counselor for children with learning differences and a trainer in the National Guard. Kim has been a mentor for other Girls Inc. executives and has played a leadership role in the national Girls Inc. network. Kim was honored as Santa Fe Business Woman of theYear by SF Professional Business Women and received the Visionary Award from Resolve, she is also a 2025 Albuquerque Business First Woman of Influence. She graduated from Leadership Santa Fe in 2015. In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time at her farm with her goats, pigs, chickens, bees, and wife and daughter.

Their work goes far beyond legal paperwork. They partner with clients to pursue humanitarian protection, preserve family unity, build economic stability, and fight for freedom from detention.
Community Matters: Quivira Coallition
Through education, innovation, and collaboration, Quivira works in coalition with ranchers, farmers, government agencies, and land stewards to foster resilience on working lands. Quivira works to support the community and implementation of regenerative agriculture until it is embraced as a crucial piece of our food systems, our land stewardship, and our solutions to climate change.
