El Rancho de Las Golondrinas
Bringing New Mexico's history to life
El Rancho de Las Golondrinas is New Mexico's premier living history museum. Open to the public from June through October, the museum invites visitors to explore its 500-acre campus and experience the history, traditions, and daily life of New Mexico's past. In addition to daily admission, Las Golondrinas hosts six annual festival weekends celebrating the state's rich cultural heritage.
Each year, the museum also presents New Mexico Heritage Days, a five-week educational program designed for students, teachers, and chaperones. During this special series, school groups from across New Mexico and neighboring states participate in hands-on learning experiences that bring 19th-century New Mexico to life.
Last year, we met children who had never seen an acequia, an old-growth tree, or baby lambs. Many shared how much they enjoyed learning about life in 1800s New Mexico. We also heard from chaperones who had visited Las Golondrinas as children and were excited to return with a new generation.
Creating these intergenerational experiences — and the lasting memories that come with them — is at the heart of our mission. We are grateful to the Santa Fe Community Foundation for supporting this work and helping connect young people and families to New Mexico's living history.

Chimayo Cultural Preservation Association
Each year, the Chimayo Cultural Preservation Association's San Isidro Day celebration brings neighbors of all ages together to honor Chimayó's acequia traditions through blessing the water, planting the community garden, and passing cultural knowledge from one generation to the next.
The Art of Generosity: IndigenousWays
The latest feature of our editorial series with Table Magazine shines light on IndigenousWays, a Santa Fe-based nonprofit that offers educational, artistic, and musical programs to serve Native peoples and their supporters, as well as initiatives aimed at promoting cultural awareness, values and traditions.

Founded by refugee leader Chantal Muhumure, Umoja ABQ empowers refugee and immigrant women with the education, resources, and support they need to build self-sufficient, thriving lives. Through programs ranging from financial literacy and driver's education to maternal health and workforce development, Umoja ABQ is helping families create new opportunities and stronger futures in New Mexico.
