Community foundations in Texas are rallying to support ongoing recovery efforts in the wake of devastating flash floods on July 4. Donors who want to help those impacted by this deadly tragedy are encouraged to contribute to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which will direct funds to vetted organizations providing relief and recovery efforts as well as flood assistance, and the San Angelo Area Foundation’s San Angelo Disaster Relief Fund, which will provide financial support to flood victims in San Angelo and surrounding areas.
Supporting community-led response efforts in Minneapolis
In response to the recent ICE surge in Minneapolis, our sister community foundation Minneapolis Foundation has announced a new round of grants through its OneMPLS Fund to support organizations meeting immediate community needs. These funds will help provide essentials such as food, housing support, and emergency assistance to families and individuals navigating sudden disruption and uncertainty.
ARTsmart Scholarship Accepting Applications
ARTsmart's "Art Changes Lives" Scholarship is now accepting applications for 2026. This scholarship supports graduating seniors from Santa Fe County who show strong artistic talent and plan to pursue studies in visual arts, design, or media arts. Learn more and apply by March 6.
SNAP benefits loss: what you can do
460,000 New Mexicans are facing an urgent challenge. With the recent suspension of SNAP benefits and federal government shutdown, 21% of state households are suddenly without one of the most basic forms of support: food assistance. Nonprofits, community partners, and food pantries are working swiftly to provide resources to fill in the gap as best they can.
