Teatro Paraguas
Meaningful and rewarding theatre
Teatro Paraguas, now enjoying its 20th season, has two intimate Mid-town black box theaters which are nearly always lit up with our own Latinx productions and community celebrations, as well as music and dance concerts, poetry readings, workshops, and guest productions throughout the year.
Teatro Paraguas is Santa Fe's community theatre. We host Compania Chuscales y Mina Fajardo (flamenco), Ballet Folclórico Xochitl, and Umbrella Children's Theatre. We co-produce the annual El Día de los Muertos on Santa Fe Plaza with the Kiwanis Club and the City of Santa Fe. We perform at the Southside Feria Mercados, at the Santa Fe Public Libraries, and at the International Folk Art Museum. We produce plays by New Mexico playwrights.
Since 2004, Teatro Paraguas has staged over 85 plays, including world premieres such as In The Time of the Butterflies, by Caridad Svich, and Atacama, by Augusto Federico Amador. Plays by New Mexico playwrights include We Are Hispanic-American Women…OK?, by Patricia Crespin of Las Vegas, and Parted Waters, by Robert F. Benjamin of Los Alamos.
Our Board of Directors is majority Latinx, and majority women. We work with troubled youth, actors with disabilities, and people who are onstage for the first time. Everyone is welcome to join us under the collective umbrella to create meaningful and rewarding theatre!

New Mexico Acequia Association
Youth education and outreach are central to the work of the New Mexico Acequia Association. Through these programs, young people engage with their local acequias and build the skills to become future community leaders.
River Source
River Source supports people advancing watershed stewardship to create significant community engagement and long-lasting impacts for intergenerational learning and ecological restoration. We provide science and policy education and the building of watershed and climate resilience in New Mexico. Our goal is to be weavers, bringing together elders, youth, and land managers to spark action for caring for our water, forests, and land and leveraging the full potential of people working together.
The Art of Generosity: Bienvenidos Outreach
The Art of Generosity — our new editorial series with Table Magazine — shines light on the people and organizations strengthening communities across New Mexico. In this first story, we meet Susan Tarver of Bienvenidos Outreach, whose work reflects how compassion, connection, and everyday acts of generosity can help neighbors meet basic needs and build lasting support systems.
