A Wraparound Approach to Family Well-Being
Families need more than groceries to stay healthy and stable. That is why The Food Depot also operates Diaper Depot, providing diapers, wipes, and resources to local families.
Established in 2013, Diaper Depot is a wraparound initiative designed to strengthen household well-being and help families stay on a stronger path toward food security. The program serves more than 300 infants and toddlers each month, distributing hundreds of packages of diapers that allow families to stretch limited budgets toward other essential needs like nutritious food and stable housing.
As one Diaper Depot client shared:
"The diapers help me be able to buy more groceries because I don’t have to buy diapers for at least a week. With rent, groceries, and my job cutting hours, the diapers help a lot. I’m a single mom and it’s so hard. My sister and my friend also get diapers from The Food Depot and it helps them a lot too."
Diaper Depot offers diapers to registered families in sizes newborn through size six and distributes supplies at The Food Depot warehouse in Santa Fe, at its Española location, and through select partner agencies across northern New Mexico.
With support from a 2025 grant from the Santa Fe Baby Fund at the Santa Fe Community Foundation, The Food Depot is helping families meet basic needs, improve household well-being, and stay on a stronger path toward food security and stability.

Through biweekly food drives, cultural events, community programs, emergency financial assistance, and a robust network of referral resources, SFIC supports the diverse needs of the local Indigenous community. Each year, the organization hosts its signature event — the Honoring Native Nations Powwow on Indigenous Peoples’ Day — bringing dancers, drummers, Tribal Dignitaries, artists, and community members together to celebrate Indigenous culture, joy, and resilience. This year’s powwow was a vibrant success, and SFIC looks forward to continuing this tradition in 2026.
