SNAP benefits loss: what you can do
460,000 New Mexicans are facing an urgent challenge. With the recent suspension of SNAP benefits and federal government shutdown, 21% of state households are suddenly without one of the most basic forms of support: food assistance. Nonprofits, community partners, and food pantries are working swiftly to provide resources to fill in the gap as best they can.
New Mexico Local News Fund 2026 Summit: Call for Presenters
New Mexico Local News Fund is currently accepting presentation proposals for their 2026 Summit, which brings together journalists, students, educators, technologists, and community leaders to envision the future and develop solutions for the challenges ahead. They welcome proposals for sessions, workshops, panels, or creative presentations that speak to the future of local news in New Mexico, especially in rural, underserved, and bilingual communities.
Help shape New Mexico's education action plan
NMPED, LANL Foundation, LESC, and WestEd are inviting the public to participate in 12 regional community meetings across the state in August to help shape the Martinez/Yazzie Action Plan.
