We were grateful for the opportunity to come together as a community in remembrance, solidarity, and joy in honor of Black freedom and culture. This year marked a special moment for the Empower! Fund as it announced its inaugural round of grants in support of Black life, arts, and culture in New Mexico.

San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen
Founded by three sisters, San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen has been active in serving the needs of the poor and hungry in the Española Valley and surrounding communities since July of 1992. They are located in the center of the low-income housing community of Apple Valley, and serve an average of 100-120 patrons per day.
