Empower! Black Futures Community Fund grants $70,000 in honor of Juneteenth
In honor of Juneteenth, the Empower! Black Futures Community Fund at Santa Fe Community Foundation is proud to announce its second round of grantmaking. The grants, which total $70,000, support organizations uplifting Black life, arts, and culture in New Mexico.

Santa Fe Conservation Trust
The Santa Fe Conservation Trust works to improve everyone's quality of life in and around Santa Fe through its conservation, trails, and community programs that provide more equitable access to nature. Last year, SFCT protected 2,200 acres, created over 75 miles of trails, hosted 28 field trips, and more.
Community Matters: Executive Director Learning Circle
This month on Community Matters, we speak with Ross Chaney, the Co-Facilitator of the Executive Director Learning Circle at the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Learning Hub. This popular program connects and supports Executive Directors in our local nonprofit sector, covering topics like board diversity, organizational growth, personal resiliency and beyond.
New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors
Last year, New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors (pictured here) celebrated its 40th anniversary. Since their inception, this all-volunteer nonprofit has completed over 780 projects to improve public lands in New Mexico, including 34 last year at locations like the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary, Galisteo Basin, Rio en Medio, and Santa Fe National Forest.
Wildfire Recovery: One Year Later
At the height of last year’s Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak wildfire last spring, the nation’s attention focused squarely on New Mexico. But by the time the fires were contained in August, the country’s attention had turned elsewhere – and locals were left to continue the hard work of recovery they had begun months before. Today, that work continues with the help of many individuals, organizations, and our Community Resiliency Fund.
Las Campanas Community Funds

Deborah & Martin Fishbein: The Art of a Lasting Legacy
Earlier this year, the Santa Fe Community Foundation received a legacy gift worth more than $8.5 million from the late Deborah and Martin Fishbein. As is often the case, the Fishbein's legacy gift is a powerful reflection of their lives, passions, and vision for the future.
