Believing in Every Student: Ina Sussman-Miller's Enduring Impact
Ina Sussman Miller’s life was guided by a strong belief in the power of education. Born in Brooklyn and later making her home in Albuquerque, she spent decades helping young people find opportunities to learn and succeed. Through the Sussman Miller Educational Assistance Fund, her legacy continues to support students across New Mexico and beyond. The Nature and Community Centered Therapist (NCCT) provides trauma-informed, land-based, and culturally rooted therapy in Nambé Oweengeh and surrounding Pueblos. This role integrates Ecotherapy, Adventure Therapy, Systems-Based Therapy, and Peer Support, fostering relationships, collaboration, and community healing indoors and outdoors in alignment with TRS’s decolonial mission.

The Director of Philanthropy designs, implements, and manages a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our organization’s $3 million annual budget. This includes leading all grant writing efforts, cultivating and stewarding individual donors, overseeing donor communications, and driving strategies to expand philanthropic support. The Philanthropy Director serves as the primary relationship manager for all funders, ensuring that existing supporters are cultivated to meet revenue goals.
