Event details

The role of a nonprofit executive director is demanding and often described as “always on.” Over time, this constant pressure can lead to burnout, stress, and disconnection, especially when meaningful support is limited.

This session creates space for executive directors to reflect, share experiences, and explore practical ways to build support for themselves and one another. Through guided conversation and peer exchange, participants will consider tools and approaches that promote emotional regulation, realistic self-care, and sustainable leadership practices.

Conversation topics will include:

  • Emotional regulation tools for high-stress roles
  • Peer support and case exchange
  • Managing the “always on” nature of executive leadership
  • Boundary setting and realistic approaches to self-care

This session is presented through the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Learning Hub and is part of the Executive Director Learning Circle program.
