Insights From a Funder Panel
Details
About the event
Our northern New Mexico nonprofit sector is dynamic and relies on the work of both funders and nonprofits to thrive. Forging and nurturing connections is more crucial than ever. This panel brings funders to you, offering an opportunity for you to interact directly with them. The funder panel will provide insights about what funders consider when selecting grantees. This is also your chance to ask your burning questions and find out what resonates with those who decide where philanthropic dollars flow. Taos programs are presented in partnership with the Taos Community Foundation.
Additional Information
Guest speakers will include Cate Sitton and Brad Robb, Anderson Foundation; Tony Fox, LANL Foundation; CJ Grace, Taos Community Foundation; and Jenny Parks and Loe Marcoline, Anchorum Foundation. Moderated by Yolanda Cruz, Santa Fe Community Foundation.

Each year, the Hub offers dozens of events, workshops, and learning circles that promote leadership, skill building, and peer-supported growth.

Yolanda Cruz
Santa Fe Community Foundation
Yolanda Cruz
Yolanda Cruz grew up in Gallup, NM and spent most of her school holidays visiting grandparents in the Mora valley or traveling with her father, who was a long-haul trucker. Racial equity and social justice have been the lens she has used to look at the world since childhood.
As a young adult Yolanda’s goal was to become a CPA and her education was focused on accounting. Life led her on a different path, and she became involved in advocacy, program planning and design, and grant-writing to support initiatives in the rural area where she lives. Yolanda has worked in the nonprofit sector, building coalitions and leading organizations. Equity continues to be an integrated focus in her work. This is her 2nd time at the Santa Fe Community Foundation, having worked here with the NM Health Equity Partnership as the Health Councils Coordinator.
In her free time, Yolanda enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and watching the wildlife around her home.

The Board Governance Role – Helping Your Nonprofit Thrive

Board members are the trusted guardians navigating the nonprofit toward enduring success. They embrace robust, principled, and lawful strategies in governance and fiscal oversight while ensuring the organization is well-equipped to drive its mission forward. In order to fulfill this role, board members must be well-prepared and aware of their roles and responsibilities. This session will help clarify the board member role. Taos programs are presented in partnership with the Taos Community Foundation.
