A recipient of the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s 2025 Tried & True Piñon Award, Amigos Bravos has spent more than three decades combining hands-on restoration, policy advocacy, and community education to safeguard one of our state’s most precious resources — water. Tune in to hear how their work is shaping a healthier future for New Mexico’s communities and ecosystems.

Joe Zupan has been Executive Director of AB for ten years. Prior to AB, Joe led a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting firm in Austin, Texas. In 2015, Joe and his partner decided to return to his Rocky Mountain roots as Joe is a native of southern Colorado. Now living in Taos, when he's not working he enjoys the natural environment in NM via hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. Joe's slogan regarding leadership:  "There they go! I must hurry and catch them, for I am their leader!"
