
Native American Advised Fund awards $121,000 to Native-serving nonprofits
The Native American Advised Fund (NAAF) at the Santa Fe Community Foundation is pleased to announce $121,000 in grants to 29 nonprofits serving Native communities across New Mexico. The 2024 grants, which range from $2,500- $10,000, support NAAF’s mission of enhancing Native lifeways and promoting the Indigenous core values of community, language, culture, and environment.

This year’s grantees are Animal Protection New Mexico; Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region; Chainbreaker Collective; Changing Woman Initiative; Free Flow NM, Inc; Gerard's House; IndigenousWays; Jemez Enterprises; Keres Children's Learning Center; Kha'p'o Community School; Little Globe; National Forest Foundation; Nat'l Indian Youth Leadership Development Project; New Mexico Environmental Law Center; Notah Begay III Foundation, Inc.; NW NM First Born; Pueblo of San Felipe DNR; River Source; Roadrunner Food Bank; Santa Fe Indigenous Center; Santa Fe Film Institute; School for Advanced Research; Silver Bullet Productions; Tewa Women United; Three Sisters Collective; Trees, Water & People; Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab; Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian; and Youth Heartline.
The Native American Advised Fund’s annual grantmaking is determined by an all-Native advisory committee that reflects the diversity of New Mexico’s Indigenous communities. Since its inception, NAAF has deployed over $880,000 to tribes, schools, and organizations across the state.

The Native American Advised Fund was established in 1993 with a seed gift from the late Allan Houser (Chiricahua Fort Sill Apache), a humanitarian and one of the world's great artists. It remains the only endowment in New Mexico dedicated solely to Native causes.

Executive Director Learning Circle Wraps for 2025
The Learning Hub wrapped up a strong year for the Executive Director Learning Circle — our free, drop-in peer space for nonprofit executive directors in northern New Mexico. We explored practical leadership topics including board development, fundraising alignment, emotional intelligence, and equity-focused practices. Deep thanks to facilitators Marsie Silvestro and Ross Chaney, and to our guest speakers for their insights.
Empty Stocking Fund: Delivering help, sharing hope
