Santa Fe Baby Fund awards $62,000 in support of infant and toddler well-being
Advancing the well-being of babies, toddlers, and their caretakers
The Santa Fe Baby Fund, an initiative of the Santa Fe Community Foundation dedicated to advancing the well-being of babies, toddlers, and their caretakers across northern New Mexico, is pleased to announce $62,000 in grants to 10 local nonprofits.
The 2025 grants, which range from $3,500 to $10,000, support The Food Depot, Growing Up New Mexico, Kids Campus at the Santa Fe Community College, La Clínica del Pueblo de Rio Arriba, Many Mothers, McCurdy Ministries, Pegasus Legal Services for Children, Saint Elizabeth Shelter Corp., Santa Fe Recovery Center, and Tewa Women United.
“These grants reflect both our community’s generosity and the critical work of nonprofit partners ensuring infants, toddlers, and families have the support they need to thrive,” said Sandra Session-Robertson, Vice President of Development & Donor Relations at the Santa Fe Community Foundation. “We’re proud for the Santa Fe Baby Fund to be a leader in highlighting the importance of supporting the early years.”
The Santa Fe Baby Fund’s annual grantmaking supports organizations in Santa Fe, Mora, Rio Arriba, and San Miguel counties addressing five priority areas: 1) increasing access to affordable, high quality early childhood care and education; 2) supporting programming for young parents ages 29 and under, and their infants and toddlers; 3) supporting grandparents or other non-parent kin raising infants and toddlers; 4) supporting ongoing training, professional development, and programming for the early childhood workforce; and 5) improving access to reproductive health services for adolescents and young adults.
Research has repeatedly shown that early childhood, particularly ages prenatal to three years, is a critical developmental period with a lifelong impact on educational, social, physical, and cognitive development. Founded in 2012 with a seed gift from a committed individual, this fund helps ensure our region’s youngest residents get the best possible start in life. To date, the fund has awarded nearly $600,000 in support of this cause.
The Santa Fe Baby Fund is possible due to the generosity of its many supporters. To learn more and donate, please visit santafecf.org/causes/early-childhood or call 505.988.9715.
