Envision Fund awards $37,500 to LGBTQ+-serving nonprofits
The Envision Fund of the Santa Fe Community Foundation, the first and largest LGBTQ+ funder in New Mexico, is pleased to announce $37,500 in grants to 10 LGBTQ+-serving nonprofit organizations across New Mexico.
The 2023 grants, which range from $2,500 - $7,500, support the fund’s four priority areas: creating an HIV-Free generation in New Mexico; combatting discrimination against LGBTQ+ people (employment, housing, immigration, access to health services); supporting school-based programs that create a safe environment for all students, including LGBTQ+ students; and promoting holistic reproductive health and gender-affirming healthcare.
“We’re so grateful to all who have donated to the Envision Fund,” said Marsie Silvestro, Envision Fund committee chair. “Their generosity has enabled us to support nonprofits in New Mexico that provide valuable and life-saving services to the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a positive way to transform donations into human services.”
2023 Envision Fund grantees include Justice Access Support and Solutions for Health: Casa de Salud; The Mountain Center; New Mexico Community AIDS Partnership/SRIC; New Mexico Legal Aid; Office of Student Wellness, Santa Fe Public Schools; Rocky Mountain Youth Corps; Santa Fe Dreamers Project; Sky Center/NM Suicide Intervention Project; Solace Sexual Assault Services; and True Kids 1.
Founded in 1997, the Envision Fund is the first and largest philanthropic entity in New Mexico dedicated solely to serving the LGBTQ+ population. Since its inception, the fund has awarded over $1 million to nonprofits across the state.
“The work of the Santa Fe Community Foundation is firmly rooted in advancing a vibrant, healthy, and equitable New Mexico for all,” said Christopher Goett, President & CEO of the Santa Fe Community Foundation. “We’re so grateful to the Envision Fund advisory committee for their leadership, representation, and nuanced understanding of the emerging needs of New Mexico’s LGBTQ+ communities.”
The fund is possible due to the leadership of its advisory committee and the generosity of its many supporters. To learn more and donate to the Envision Fund, please visit www.santafecf.org/causes/lgbtq or call 505.988.9715.
