Community Matters: Cooking with Kids
This week on Community Matters, we speak with Anna Farrier, the executive director of Cooking with Kids — a nationally recognized non-profit organization based in northern New Mexico that educates children and families to make healthy food choices through hands-on learning with fresh, affordable foods.
Kitchen Angels
Founded in 1992, Kitchen Angels serves residents of Santa Fe and other Northern New Mexico communities who are homebound, in a health crisis, lack the resources for regular meals, and are not eligible for other local meal services. Kitchen Angels believes no one in our community who is homebound because of a chronic, surgery-related, or terminal medical condition should ever go without appropriate nutrition. Making sure those in need have enough to eat is simply the right thing to do.
Interfaith Community Shelter at Pete's Place
The Interfaith Community Shelter at Pete's Place offers hope and a safe place for those who are homeless or vulnerable with the greatest need as they overcome adversity. Working with volunteers and community groups, the Shelter provides short-term survival services — food, clothing, shelter, showers, service navigation — for homeless individuals, active service experiences for volunteers and additional long-term services for homeless individuals in collaboration with several local service provider partners.

Native American Advised Fund awards $60,000 to Native-serving nonprofits
The Native American Advised Fund (NAAF) at the Santa Fe Community Foundation is pleased to announce $60,000 in grants to 17 nonprofits serving Native communities across New Mexico. The 2023 grants support NAAF’s mission of enhancing Native lifeways and promoting the Indigenous core values of community, language, culture, and environment.
Envision Fund awards $37,500 to LGBTQ+-serving nonprofits
The Envision Fund of the Santa Fe Community Foundation, the first and largest LGBTQ+ funder in New Mexico, is pleased to announce $37,500 in grants to 10 LGBTQ+-serving nonprofit organizations across New Mexico.
